About

David Z. Lubell is a clinical practitioner, private teacher, and founder of Lekayem. Drawing on his experience at Ner Yisroel in Baltimore and Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh in Israel, David earned his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Touro College with a particular focus on sciences and mathematics. Currently pursuing his Master of Social Work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work, he utilizes this disciplined, quantitative background to bring an analytical, evidence-based approach to his clinical training and educational work.

Mission

At The Lekayem Project, we believe that the wisdom found in Torah is meant to be lived, not just learned. Our mission is to guide individuals and groups through Torah study that emphasizes literacy and critical thinking as a path to true self-discovery. By using a process we call "Cognitive Auditing," we help students look inward—applying the analytical rigor of their learning to their own lives, emotions, and behaviors. We are here to ensure that every hour spent in study translates into real-world emotional intelligence, helping our students navigate life's complexities with a resilient spirit and a clear sense of purpose.

Vision

We envision a world where everyone has the potential to realize their goals and self-actualize, understanding that life's challenges can often be perplexing and difficult to navigate. Our vision is that by examining thoughts, words, and actions, individuals can understand how they define their terms, uncover their personal biases, and make informed decisions. The Lekayem Project strives to transform life's challenges into opportunities for building mental and emotional resilience, blending Torah Hashkafah with Therapeutic Psychoeducation as a life guide. We see a future where individuals and communities boost self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-care, viewing intellectual excellence as a pathway to emotional maturity, resilience, and a purposeful life.

The Foundation of Lekayem

Mesilot Bilvavam - The Pathways inTheir Hearts.

The methodologies used at Lekayem are the result of five years of intensive research and development. David authored and developed Mesilot Bilvavam, a comprehensive program dedicated to the synthesis of Torah principles and modern psychology. This program serves as the philosophical and practical foundation for the Lekayem project, providing the structured "Mesilot" (pathways) through which students learn to integrate their learning into their lived experience.

Community Contributions

& Impact

Before founding Lekayem, David spent years as an active educator and mentor in the Hollywood, Florida community. For nearly three years, he delivered a weekly Parsha shiur, alongside various series on Machshevet Yisrael (Jewish Thought). His commitment to the community is further reflected in thousands of hours of local tutoring, much of it provided pro-bono, helping students across all backgrounds achieve academic and spiritual clarity.

Guidance & Mentorship Beyond the classroom, David has become a trusted resource for community members navigating complex personal challenges. By providing empathetic emotional support and spiritual guidance, he has helped individuals find stability and direction. His role as a communal confidant allows him to bring a "real-world" sensitivity to his clinical practice, ensuring his advice is as compassionate as it is grounded.
